Upon being selected to begin

on 5:46 AM

Upon being selected to begin the Corporate Management Training Program, Hyatt will provide relocation assistance. Trainees will be reimbursed for either airfare or mileage when driving between the home or school address and the hotel; whichever is applicable at the time of your move. In addition, the reasonable cost of food and lodging in route is refundable. If necessary, trainees will also be reimbursed for transportation of household goods. Upon arrival to the hotel, trainees are afforded a complimentary, 14-day stay while securing housing.

Training With Hyatt Has Its Rewards

Hyatt offers a competitive salary for Corporate Management Trainees based on the trainee's geographic placement. Compensation for the Corporate Management Training Program is determined by the current average cost of living in the geographic region of the hotel. The Trainee salary is based on a five-day, 47.5-hour workweek, with additional compensation for hours worked in excess of 47.5 hours per week.

Various Destinations, One Great Future

Corporate Management Training Programs vary in length from five to 18 months depending on the program concentrations.

Completion of the Corporate Management Training Program prepares trainees for a subsequent Assistant Manager or Manager level position in the division of the training concentration. For example, Operations trainees coming off the program may be placed as an Assistant Manager or Manager in the Housekeeping, Front Office, Reservations, Restaurants, or Banquets as a few possibilities. Culinary Trainees may be placed as Sous Chef, and Accounting Trainees as Credit Manager or Chief Accountant as possibilities.

Because the hotel where training is complete has the first opportunity to place graduating trainees upon conclusion of the program, trainees will most likely begin their management career in familiar surroundings. If appropriate positions are not available at the hotel where training is completed, the trainee may be transferred to another Hyatt property for Management placement.

How To Develop a Successful Management Training Program

By Angela Stringfellow, eHow Contributor

An effective management training program is essential to the proper functioning of an organization. Without strong leadership, employees can lose sight of the mission and vision of the organization, resulting in poor performance or dissatisfied constituents. By following a top-down model for creating a management training plan, you'll be sure your objectives are met and your training methods are most efficient.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Instructions

1.

1

Determine your goals. Identify specific outcomes that will be achieved upon successful completion of the program. For example, new managers who complete the training program will have the ability to run the office for several days in the absence of upper management.

2.

2

Identify the core skills necessary to meet your objectives. In order for new managers to have the ability to run the office without supervision, they will need to know how to open the office, turn over the phone system and coordinate the staff. They will also need to know how to lock the doors and enable the alarm system at the close of business. List every skill necessary to complete the essential functions of the job.

3.

3

Decide on training methods that will most effectively transfer the required knowledge. Hands-on tasks are better taught using visual methods and demonstration. For example, teaching a new manager the procedure for locking the building is better demonstrated than described. Explaining the procedure for conducting a morning meeting can be taught using a verbal presentation. Determine the best training methods for each skill.

4.

4

Appoint trainers for each section of training. Senior management often shares training duties, teaching new managers a group of skills within their speciality before trainees move on to another department. Decide who within your organization will be responsible for each training module.

5.

5

Create a training schedule. Some skills build upon each other, and are best learned in sequence. Create a time line that serves as a guideline for moving new trainees through the program in a logical fashion.

6.

6

Run through your newly developed training program with a group of trainees and request feedback from all participants. Your training staff and your trainees will have valuable feedback that will allow you to make adjustments to your training methods. Adjust your training sequence and methods accordingly.
